What's on your list this summer? I'd love to hear!

  1. You will LOVE Lost City of Z!

I just downloaded Eiffel's Tower, about the construction of Paris's iconic monument, after reading a sample, but my quest for an amazing novel is still ongoing. I want something dense and sprawling, like Middlesex.

  2. Kate, I actually JUST finished Z, and I did love it. Such an amazing story!

Have you read Midnight's Children or The Children's Hospital? Both giant, sprawling works of fiction!

  3. Just started the second Hunger Game Series book last night... After I complete the series I'll have to check out some of the books you have listed here.

Do you have a Kindle or do you read actual books? I'm debating on whether or not I should invest in a Kindle...

  4. Melissa, I've been hearing so much about that series! Are you liking it?

I have a Kindle that I absolutely adore, but I mostly use it to read old (free) books during my commute. I still read real books from the library and my own bookshelves!

  6. This list is sending my shopping for some more reads to an already packed summer plan.
I can't wait to hear what you think of them.
    Cheers!

  9. oh summer reading...i'd like to read the slap - i know, i know, years behind...but this year i also made a commitment to actually read what was already on my bookshelves rather than buy a new book every couple of weeks - so it looks like i've got some 'dense and sprawling' (love that description!) coming up - a hundred years of solitude is on the shelf...maybe finally anna karenina?

  10. Julie I loved Dreaming in Cuban. So fantastic. Also, you should check out The Hunger Games. Even though it's aimed at young adults the characters and story are great. I think I'm going to start the Game of Thrones series. I've heard good things. Happy Reading!

  11. Monica, glad you liked it!

mbb, love what you said about reading books you already own. I try to be good about that, too! Have you seen this?! http://www.likecool.com/Read_your_Books_Shelf--Store--Home.html So neat!

Bryn, I think Peter is going to read that Game of Thrones series this summer. If it looks good, I might steal!
